The course covers :
The biology of nervous and hormonal responses, of infectious disease, medicines and drugs, and the origin of species.
The chemistry of materials, such as cement and glass, of metals and of oil and oil-based products, and changes in the earth and its atmosphere.
The physics of energy and its use, and of the uses and hazards of electromagnetic waves, and theories of the origin of the universe.
- This course gives students the opportunity to study literature, including plays novels, stories and poetry, at an advanced level. Students will explore literary themes and characters as well as social context and background. The language element explores the structure of language and its use in everyday contexts, such as newspapers, advertising and speeches.
- This couse covers a range of English skills, including reading, writing and speaking and listening. Students will read a Shakesspeare play, a novel and a variety of poems from different cultures, as well as developing different types of writing. The course is assessed by coursework and by two exams at the end of the year.

Psychology is the study of human behaviour.- A 10 week summer term course, a part of the Foundation Access to HE area which provides learners with an introduction to successful study and helps them gain 4 credits at Level in the Award in Personal Development
- This course gives students the opportunity to develop their study techniques to level 2, with work on note-taking, reading, writing, research and presentations. The level 3 course develops the skills encountered at level 2, with a more specific focus on preparing for undergraduate study. The students will cover target setting, organisation of time and resources to improve study, interview techniques and presentation skills. Students will also be supported with UCAS applications, from using the on-line APPLY system, to writing a personal statement.
